How Long Do I Need for My Family Photos?

I know, I know. The entire family is not excited that you booked yet another session of family photos. They just don't get it - updating the family pictures yearly is so important to you. Everyone has changed so much, and the kids are growing so fast! Every moment needs to be captured. Preparing the family for these photos can help them be ready and know what to expect.

Luckily, your photos should not take too long. Most of the time, I do a full family session in 30 to 45 minutes. This gives enough time to get the kids warmed up to me, but not so long they are so over it and not smiling anymore or, worse, hangry! Haha. This amount of time allows for multiple poses, candid shots, and, depending on where we are taking your photos, a few different backgrounds.

Don't forget, it is never a bad time to update your family photos. No need to wait until the crazy-ness of the holiday season to book your session. You can even use updated photos from summer (or whenever!) for your holiday cards if you wanted. Now is a much better time than in a few years and missing out on photographs of those memories from now.
